This is a mural of my friend Tayrin from a photograph I took. Tayrin (Ty for short) is Panamanian and has beautiful Afro Latina hair. I chose to utilize the buildings exposed vent holes giving passer-byes something to inspire them even on the few rainy days in San Diego(I also didn’t want them to stick out like a sore thumb to everyone). Using bright beautiful colors I wanted to invoke a sense of celebrating diversity and making sure people are being represented.
The mural is located at 3426 Adams Avenue San Diego CA on Uptown Bicycles building and curated by Samar Sepehri from Sepehri Gallery.
This was done with all spray paint.
