This is a mural of my friend Tayrin from a photograph I took. Tayrin (Ty for short) is Panamanian and has beautiful Afro Latina hair. I chose to utilize the buildings exposed vent holes giving passer-byes something to inspire them even on the few rainy days in San Diego(I also didn’t want them to stick out like a sore thumb to everyone). Using bright beautiful colors I wanted to invoke a sense of celebrating diversity and making sure people are being represented.

  • The mural is located at 3426 Adams Avenue San Diego CA on Uptown Bicycles building and curated by Samar Sepehri from Sepehri Gallery.

  • This was done with all spray paint.

  • Completed in November 2020
