Perception Is Reality
My Skin Color Is Not A Threat To Anyone or Anything Enough is Enoughhhhh!!
Inspired by the tragic events of 2020, initially brought on by the tragic and unjustified murder of Ahmaud Arbery. I set out to put a message directly in the face of everyone while also being indirect. The play on 2020 vision and an eye chart being a complete visual representation explores how much further we need to move towards achieving equality. This started as a graphic I made for a T shirt that is for sale here, with all proceeds being donated to People of Color charities and Non-Profits. It was also a painting I did on canvas and a limited edition print with all those proceeds being donated as well.
The eye chart says “My Skin Color Is Not A Threat To Anyone Or Anything Enough Is Enoughhhhh!!” and appropriately titled.
This mural is located at 845 Main St, Memphis Tennessee at Soul and Spirits Brew. The wall was curated by Paint Memphis 123.
This was done with spray paint and brushes.
Completed in December 2020.
